Digging wells and drilling in Morocco

To proceed with the digging of wells and the drilling of boreholes, the investor must submit an application, accompanied by a file, to the Water Basin Agency (ABH) or the Regional Directorate for Water Resources (HRD) concerned for obtain the necessary authorization.
The applicant:

The natural or legal person or his legal representative
Documents required:

    An application for authorization from the person concerned;
    An act by which the plaintiff justifies the free disposal of the soil on which the works or installations must be made;
    An appropriate site plan showing water points, structures and public facilities within 1 km radius;
    The Agricultural Project in case of irrigation.

Fresh:
Concerning the Water Basin Agencies, the costs are decided by the decision of the Board of Directors of each Agency: The fees for authorization requests vary between 400 and 1,000 Dhs.
